One Night Jam

Since its debut in 2000 with Lowen & Navarro, One Night Jam has featured such diverse talent as:

  • Grammy-nominated country/Americana songwriter Gretchen Peters

  • Grammy-winning rocker Jim Peterik

  • Legendary bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton

  • Powerful Chicago singer/songwriter Michael McDermott

  • Blues artist Anthony Gomes

  • Chicago legend and lead singer of Jefferson Starship Cathy Richardson

  • Folk legend David Mallett

In recent years we’ve added rock guitar/vocal legend Derek St. Holmes, world music phenomenon Acoustic Eidolon, international songwriter Jann Klose, and closer to home Chicago’s Mike Aquino, Heather Horton and Classical Blast. Since the untimely passing of Eric Lowen from ALS, Dan Navarro has continued on as a solo artist and still loves CST.

There are two separate types of One Night Jams – the downstairs Mainstage with 130 seats, including the comfy VIP couch seats (that include a photo with the artist) and the Edith Wood studio theatre upstairs where we offer the “Edie’s Attic” series – artists in more of a “house concert” setting.  All of our artists have enjoyed our theatre and our audiences.  We think you’ll be amazed at some of the names that will grace our stage in the coming year.

BUY Dan Navarro

The original One Night Jam artist and Folk Legend Dan Navarro returns to CST! Long a CST favorite, Navarro’s music is folkish with a rock tinge. Lowen & Navarro achieved national fame when Pat Benatar recorded and had a hit with their song, “We Belong.” Also a successful voiceover actor/musician, Dan’s voice has appeared in such films as “Happy Feet,” “The Lorax,” “Rio,” and “Envy.” He’s also appeared on such TV shows as “American Dad,” “Family Guy,” and “Melrose Place” and countless commercials over the years. Most recently he was featured as “El Chakal” in the hit movie, “The Book of Life” and “Pirates Of The Caribbean 5.” Patrons purchasing couch seats will receive an 8 x 10 photo with Dan.

Dan is touring in support of his first solo studio album since the passing of Eric Lowen, “Shed My Skin.” And his ONJ shows are always full of surprises that you won’t see anywhere else. Dan loves Chicago Street, and is always inspired to play around a bit. http://www.dannavarro.com

Nu-Blu2
Sunday, April 19, 2020 @ 7:00pm

BUY Nu-Blu

Joining us for the 3rd year in a row is Nu-Blu from Siler City, NC. Nu-Blu’s heart & soul is husband & wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh. Carolyn’s caramel-coated soprano is one of the band’s defining traits, at times a lullaby, at times a freight train headed straight for you, but always unwinding a surprising tale. Daniel is the group’s backbone, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. TJ Honaker on vocals and banjo, and Clint White on fiddle/mandolin round out the quartet’s warm, layered, American roots sound. Together they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads. Patrons purchasing couch seats will receive 8×10 photo with the band.
