Shakespeare in Shorts
Closed! At Maximum Enrollment
This camp introduces students to the literature of Shakespeare through the performance of shortened adaptations in the original language. The play, Macbeth, is divided into five acts, with students assigned a different role in each act, allowing all students to play a variety of roles and to learn the play from different perspectives. The charming, but bare bones approach of performing Shakespeare in t-shirts and shorts guarantees an immersion in the imaginative language of the bard. The culmination includes two main stage performances, in tandem with the Teen Shakespeare Workshop.

A “Yard Show” will also be a part of the production, giving students the opportunity to re-create the atmosphere of The Globe Theatre of Shakespeare’s time, by performing as jugglers, clowns, and musicians.
