COVID-19 Policy
Dear Patrons and Volunteers of Chicago Street Theatre,

In order to create a safe environment for our audiences, casts, crews, volunteers, students and staff and maintain our ability to bring quality live theater and education to the community, the Chicago Street Theatre Board of Directors has adopted the latest measures regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing rise of variants.

Effective 09/13/2021:
  • Anyone in the building must be masked regardless of vaccine status and is asked not to enter the building if they have felt ill within 24 hours. Patrons must be properly masked at all times while viewing a live performance.
  • All volunteers, including performers, stage and technical crew, house managers, concessionaires, and ushers ages 12 and older are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to performing their functions at Chicago Street Theatre. Exceptions may be considered if a physician has recommended for someone not to receive a vaccination based on medical reasons. Performers and crew may be asked to show proof of vaccination at the discretion of a show’s director.
  • Casts with performers ages 12 and older who are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear face masks during live performances and tech rehearsals. Casts with performers under 12 will wear masks during live performances and tech week. Masks must be worn by all performers for all shows during regular rehearsals.
  • Volunteers who test positive for COVID-19 or are exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be asked to report it to the theatre immediately for reasons of contact tracing and follow the guidelines from the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) regarding quarantine procedures.
In addition, hand sanitizing stations will remain in place throughout our building.
Thank you for your understanding at this time. These measures implemented are put in place so that we may continue our mission to connect our community through the creative power of live theater. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID cases in our area and make adjustments to our policy if needed in order to keep our volunteers and patrons safe as are many other theatres in our region. Please be aware that some of our shows this season may be adjusted on our schedule in consideration of everyone’s safety.
Thank you all!
